Design argument: if the earth was only a few percent of the distance to the sun closer or further - life could not exist.
Move our fragile little sphere of life a few thousand miles closer to the sun and see what happens. The seasons would become one season - hot. Plant life would fail to produce, animals would starve, and man would perish. Move earth a few thousand miles further from the sun and our only season would be winter.
The earth has been positioned with great care, not too close, not too far, but just right.
