Why Believe in God?

All men have a natural aversion to death and a desire to keep on living.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

God has set eternity in the hearts of men. Man can conceptualize it, rationally understand it, feel it, and desire it but never have it without God. Why do men universally fear non-being? If there was such great peace with non-being, then why do we fear going back to non-being? If creation has created itself, where does this great striving come from in man to live forever-- to cheat death? It seems that the desire to exist has been implanted in man.
