Why Believe in God?

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

It is an old argument painted in different words - can we fail to gamble with such a promise? Eternity is such an interminably long time compared with the near momentary existence of this brief breath we call life. An eternity of regret will burn hotter than any flame of hell. The darkness of a Godless abyss will be more suffocating than being buried alive in a constricting coffin.

God is light - perfect, timeless and loving and He calls us to that glorious light.
